Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data Frostle handles and why. Our guiding principle: keep as much as possible on your own device, and send only what’s needed to generate the answer you asked for.

What stays on your device

  • Your chat history and screenshots are stored locally on your computer.
  • API keys (if you bring your own) are stored in the Windows Credential Manager — encrypted by the OS, never written to a plain file and never sent to us.
  • Settings are stored locally.

What is sent, and to whom

  • Captured content (the image region, text, or audio you submit) is sent to our AI providers — Anthropic (Claude, for vision and text) and Groq (Whisper, for voice) — solely to produce your response.
  • • On the hosted tiers, requests pass through our Cloudflare backend, which holds the provider keys and records usage metadata (counts, token totals, timestamps) to enforce plan limits. We do not store the content of your captures or responses on our servers.
  • • When you use your own key, requests go to the providers directly.

Account & billing data

If you sign in with Google, we receive your email address and basic profile to identify your account. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card details. We retain billing status (e.g. active/cancelled) to manage your subscription.

How providers use your data

Anthropic, Groq, Google, Stripe, and Cloudflare process data under their own privacy policies. We select providers that do not train foundation models on submitted business/API content by default, but you should review their policies for the current terms.

Retention & your choices

  • • You can delete local history from within the app at any time.
  • • You can cancel your subscription and request deletion of your account data by contacting us.
  • • Usage metadata is retained only as long as needed to operate and bill the service.

Children

Frostle is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes & contact

We may update this policy; the “last updated” date reflects the latest version. Questions or data requests: [email protected].
